CHAPTER 1

Hello, my name is Alexander Martin, Doctor of Optometry at Boston Vision. I'm about to place - insert and remove a bandage contact lens.

CHAPTER 2

So the technique today that we're gonna demonstrate is putting in a contact lens. In some cases, patients can come in with very large abrasions, and we want to actually use a contact lens like a Band-Aid. So you're supposed to use a contact lens that's breathable and rated for nighttime wear. This is Air Optix Night and Day. So what I'm gonna have you do is I'm gonna have you just start - look down, then look up, then look towards your nose. Perfect, once the contact is on, close slowly. Blink a couple of times.

CHAPTER 3

Very good, once it's on there, I will check to make sure that the contact lens has centered on the eye. And I'll have you just take a look in here. Very good. And... Good - go ahead and blink. Perfect. Look up. And blink. Might be able to see the contact there on the camera, good. So that lens is adhered.

CHAPTER 4

Now for the purposes of also taking the lens out, you just kinda repeat what you did to put it in. I'm gonna have you start by looking down. Then look up. So now I'm bracing the lids to have complete control. I'm gonna take the lens and I'm gonna slide it off. Once it's onto the conjunctiva, I'm gonna pinch it. And it comes right out.
